  1. Im trying to convert .mov files to .mp4 (you can guess why), but the files arent allowing it. In Quicktime Pro, I get the following message:

"Couldn't export the movie '...' because this movie does not allow saving"

Ive used Rad tools and was successful in converting the file to .avi, with no sound, but when I try to convert that .avi file to .mp4, I get the same message that I did with Quicktime Pro.

To convert files to .mp4, Im using a PSP specific program that converts most all files to .mp4 with various, pre-set dimensions. Its called PSP Video9. I think the only 2 formats it has problems converting are certain .mov and .wma files.

-What can I do to unlock this video?
-Is there a program that can convert .mov to .mp4 directly?

If anyone wants to take their own stab at this, 1 of the 5 .mov files Im trying to convert is the Star Wars Clone Wars Episode 21.mov, downloaded off of Starwars.com directly (should be legal).

Heres the link - Its about 50mb
Sar Wars Clone Wars Episode 21

    Thanks

  4. Try to convert mov to mpeg first then convert mpeg to mp4. If that helps. Instead of going directly to mp4.

mov to mpeg can be done by TMPGEnc.

  5. Its honestly that these files are" locked" somehow. And no ammount of converting is unlocking them.

I was only able to convert these files to .avi with a program called 'Something Something Cleaner' (forgot the name). But it added a permanent watermark, distorted the picture dimensions, and was still "locked" from being converted into anything else.

    Bummer...

  6. I downloaded the file (animation) from the link you gave above and was able to convert about 5-6 min of it to mpeg-2 with TMPGEnc. You have to make sure that the quick time filter priority is set to the highest.
