  1. I want to convert one chapter of a dvd to an MPEG. I've used DVD Decrypter to extract just that chapter, and I want an MPEG (or maybe AVI) which has *no compression.* I know it may be big, but that's what I need to do. Can anyone point me to a guide (couldn't find one to do that)? Thanks a million!

It's so simple, I guess none's bothered to write a guide, as VOBs already contain mpeg video (no conversion needed): Load the VOB in ReJig. Demux mpeg video and audio track (in whatever format(s) that may be). Multiplex video and audio back together (TMPGEnc). Voila! An mpeg version of the VOB.

  3. You want an MPG with no compression. WOW, that will be hard!

I guess the "no compression" was for the AVI version. This can simply be achieved by loading the mpg created in VirtualDubMod, then saving as AVI without using any compression (raw). It will be huge (depending on length), but that's the way raw AVI is...

  5. ... VirtualDubMod will read VOBs also directly.
