  1. A friend brought me a home movie in kvcd format. I wanted to put it on a dvd for him, but when i try to add it, the tmpgenc dvd author tells me that the GOP i too long. How can i change that?

I tried converting it, but then i only get half of the movie. The run time is listed at 38 minutes.

    anybody help?

  2. You can use DVDPatcher to patch the file in order TDA to accept it. Do not forget to patch it back after that. Alternatively you can use another authoring programm, but pay attention to the audio sample rate - for DVD should be 48 KHz (TDA will resample automaticaly).
Either way there are good chances it will not play properly.
About the duration - did you test multiplexed or elementary video?

When tda says the gop is too long just choose ignore,if it also says the resolution is wrong(480x480)then use dvdpatcher as mentioned by Abond.

Running the video thru tmpgenc\mpeg tools\merge and cut fixes problems when only half the movie shows up when authoring.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
