No, use the CLI subst command:

    Code:
    SUBST [drive1: [drive2:]path]
    SUBST drive1: /D

drive1: Specifies a virtual drive to which you want to assign a path.
[drive2:]path Specifies a physical drive and path you want to assign to
                     a virtual drive.
/D Deletes a substituted (virtual) drive.

Type SUBST with no parameters to display a list of current virtual drives.
Works very well, no need to "burn" a disc image 1st.

On a computer, the underlying file system doesn't matter to a DVD player app.
D:\VIDEO_TS can just as easily be a HD as a DVD, or even CD.

For "Assigning a Folder", what I said is the easiest way. Now, if you want to check for disc space, ISO PVD properties, etc. Burning to Disc Image and Mounting (see aforementioned DaemonTools) would make more sense.

It's because I would like to make the dvd decrypter decrypter a virtual dvd media . I wouldn't like to make any image in condition to use a virtual dvd drive.

  7. The SUBST works great I have used it many times. When I first started with it I got errors when I tries to use it. I found out it was the way I was putting the command parameters in wrong.

Let's say you have a D:\ drive with a folder called movies. You have no N:\ drive on your PC but that's the letter you want to use as the drive leter. You can use any drive letter as long as you don't have it currently. The command would be subst N: d:\movies That's all you have to do.

Now if you reboot your PC you will need to run the command again or create a *.bat file that runs when Windows starts.

You're correct in that DVDDecrypter won't open a non-OpticalDisc type device, but what are you needing to do with it? It's NOT encrypted/macrovisioned, so you easily do a file copy. If you need to demux, etc., you can just as easily use DVD2AVI, etc on the VOBs.
