Hi , just tried to back up an '86 Disney movie called Flight of the Navigator with decrypter/shrink. All went well software wise untill I tried playing in Powerdvd and it froze after about 20mins, same in standalone player.
Could this be just because its Disney ? I am using Sony DVDr+ and also encounterd the message Unsupported format during powerdvd.
Any ideas what might of caused this, source disc seems clean and I backed up movie only. Thanks for any help.....

Probably a duff disc. If you have Nero try scanning it for errors, if you don't have it use DVD Decrypter to make an image of your backup and see if it fails to read the disc.

does it do the same thing if you play the created DVD off your harddrive, if no then its probably a duff disc like steve said

Ok, I scanned the source disc through nero and it found 9 errors . I also tried to image the backup disc and decrypter could not read disc properly, recieved i/o error. Even though the disc looks fine should I assume if there are errors on it it can't be backed up?

give it a wipe, and it should work.
and use better -R media.LifeStudies 1.01 - The Angle Of The Dangle Is Indirectly Proportionate To The Heat Of The Beat,Provided The Mass Of The Ass Is Constant. -
This is a single layer disc, or at least mine sure as hell was. After you get it cleaned up and make sure it has no scratches on it, just do an iso read and an iso write with DVD Decrypter, absolutely no need to use DVD Shrink on this one.

Tried everything, won't backup.... must be corrupt somewhere on the disc. Nero indicates 9 errors on source with scan but doesn't effect how source plays?

It happens, just back up your original disk again, maybe write a lower speed? Failing that, but some decent media, try Taiyo Yuden.
He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect. -
Yeah you've got some read errors on the original. Players are more tolerant of certain kinds of errors than DVD-ROMs are. Try ripping it in your burner instead of your ROM, or try ripping it at 1x. Try ripping it with SmartRipper instead of DVD Decrypter, or install the AnyDVD trial and try just doing a Nero disc copy.

Did you try VOB Blanker?
Life is like a pothole, you just have to learn to get around it. -
Any guides on using vob blanker to fix errors, I am assuming in order to use isobuster you need to decrypt first with decrypter and then repair with iso buster?
