I have a few more small questions that occured to me while I
was reading another 30 pages of the manual this morning if anyone could help?
1) According to you the Chase Playback feature is only available on
2x DVD-RW's. With that known, is there any quality difference
between a 2X and 4X recorded disk? Cause if it means not being able
to use Chase Playback for a better looking out come, I will
definitely just go with the 4x instead and lose out on this feature.
2)While using Video Mode on a DVD-R it seems like the only option
you have is to enter a Title for the disk, but not Chapters. So for
instance if I wanted to tape a Chicago Bulls game and wanted to
divide each Quarter and Halftime into its own chapter I couldnt do
that correct?
3)Is there going to be that great of a difference between recording
something at the 3hr mark with the manual setup feature instead of
at the LP standard of 4hrs. When I say difference, I mean in
quality. According to the unit manual on the last couple of pages
(Pg 92) it says that differences can be seen once you go over the
140min (2:20hr) mark and once you go over the 270min (4:20hr) mark
in Video Mode. Do you think that is accurate data or have you
learned otherwise from your own experimentation. Also I notice in VR
mode that changes in quality occur once you pass the 120min (2hr),
160min (2:40hr), 210min (3:30hr), and 270min (4:20hr) mark. With
that known if their data is correct, and through what your
experiments showed, do you believe there is a big difference in
quality between the 210min (3:30hr) mark in Vr mode compared to the
LP 4hr mark on Video mode?

3. I dont know if it looks different between MN and LP but I do know that it looks like shit either way. 3 hours is way too long and you get dropped resolutions to 352x480.
yo best bet if recording games is yo thang, you want to get a hard drive and split them up in MN mode to fit around 3 hours 30 mins -
Whats MN mode again, Im drawing blanks? Do you think put the game on 2 DVD discs recorded at SP and have 2 hrs of space of each disk would make things looking really good?

steve2713... that's a hilarious photo you use for your member ID. is that Glen Campbell? That's my guess.. or maybe the second guy that played Daren on Bewitchedhehehe

It is possible to add manual chapters in Video Mode. This has been discussed before.
(1) Manual chapter marks can be added before the DVD-RW disc is finalized. e.g. JVC
(2) Manual chapter marks can be added in finalized video mode disc when it is copied from HD to DVD. e.g. Pioneer and Panasonic
I haven't seen any DVD recorder allows manually add chapters mark on finalized video mode disc when video is recorded directly on the disc. However, I think this is technically possible but the manufacturers are not including this feature yet.
