Hey hows it going? Well just purchased a Pioneer Dvr-220 yesterday
and am still reading the manual, so I have had much play time with
it yet. However, there was this great deal on TDK DVD-R at Best Buy
a 50 pack for $19.99 instead of $39.99!!! So I picked up 3 of them.
Heres where my question comes in:
According to the manual is say the recorder is
compatiable with the following blank recording software:
-Version 1.1. and Version 1.1 / 2x DVD-RW
and
-Version 2.0 and Version 2.0 / 4x DVD-R
Being that I got the 8x DVD-R, will it still accept these, since it
say it is made to take 4x discs?
Alright thanks a bunch to anyone that may be able to help me out!
Tim

It will accept them. I've burned alot of Teon CMC AE1 8x discs with no problems, they burn at 8x fine on my 420 (same recorder with a HD).

I've used the TDK 8X DVD-R with the 220-S with no problems.

Great. On a side note I read on some of the 4x discs that I have, that is says if you have a 2x machine using these 4x discs could be dangerous to your recorder and cause damage to it. I have a 4x so I have no need to worry. But if I use these 8x's could it cause any damage in the long run even if they do indeed work?
