  1. Ok, I have a pc with an ATI AIW 9800 pro card and I also have an older ATI AIW card. I want to setup one of these to my main tv. I looked in my 9800 manuel and it says go to Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advance and then click on the Display tab and choose TV. Only problem is I don't have a display tab.

So, what do I need to install to bring up the display tab to get the video output to display onto my tv?

    Thanks!

You need to install the drivers and MMC that came with the card. The only part of MMC that you actually need is the ATI Control Panel. This was separate on earlier versions of the software but isn't these days. You might be able to do a custom install if you don't want the rest. Although why you would buy an AIW and then not install the software that allows you to use it I don't really know.

  3. Well, funny thing is I'm running the latest versions of all the ATI software, including the MMC. Don't know why it didn't install it. I have the side bar that comes up with all the TV, Player, VCD, and Library but I don't see anything allows to do output to TV. The instructions in the 9800 manual states to do it under Control Panel...which I have a laptop that has this function and it is under the Control Panel.

    Confused!

  4. Funny? No -it's very stupid indeed.

You have to connect the TV with the cable as the card /chip senses that something is attached to that outlet. To be safe - reboot with it attached. Then it should show up in the configuartion after that reboot.

Thank you for the most KIND response...I've tried that...didn't work. Will try it again...maybe with some fairy dust & luck it will work this time!!!

That won't make any difference. If a TV is connected you will be able to select it from the Displays tab. If it isn't connected it will still show up under the Displays tab but be greyed out. But, if there is no Display tab, there is no way to select it so whether it is connected or not is irrelevant.

I'm at work at the moment and my AIW equipped machine is at home so this is from memory. If you right click on te Desktop and select Properties, that will bring up the Display Properties box. Go to Settings, Advanced. This is where you should find the Display tab (there should be the standard General, Adapter , Monitor, etc tabs, plus some extra ATI logo'd ones). If you don't, I can only suggest a re-install of the ATI software.
