  1. I have successfully ripped and copied using DVD Shrink 3.2 Twilight Zone Season One, Discs 1,2,4,5,6. Last night I tried ripping disc 3 and it won't let me. Now get this. When I put the disc in the dvd-rom in any computer, the DVD will not play at all. When I try to run DVD Decryptor, I get an I/O error on VOB 5. Something about an error reading it. The dvd plays in all my standalone dvd players; Sony and Cyberhome in my house.

Can a file be corrupted or ?

    Any ideas would be helpful.

    Thanks, hl

  2. New or old TZ series???
I ripped the whole 45 disc old series and did have this problem around disc 33 (I think, it was a while ago). Only that one. Would not play in windows media player at all.

When ripped with decrypter in iso read mode and then iso write, disc was unplayable. High quality blank, no errors found after verifying. I then opened the iso in shrink and the image was completely green!?!? I ripped the disc again in file mode to my hard drive with decrypter, green image again!?!? One last attempt, reauthor the sucker with shrink saving each episode to my hard drive seperately. It worked! The eps played back like they were supposed to all along.

I did try 2 different copies. Don't ask me what they did wrong.

I did not mind the reauthoring part and losing the menus because that was my intention in the first place, to actually re-arrange them all in the order of their air date. None of the 156 eps were in order, you could have eps from seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 all on one disc. On top of that, there were only 3 - 4 eps per disc. I now have them all in chronological order on a 26 disc set.

  3. I/O error is usually a damaged or dirty disk. Try cleaning the disk then use DVD Decrypter. If you still get the I/O error, you're probably toast.

  4. If it's scratched, try the SkipDr

  5. Have you used this product? If so, what is your success rate? I like it if it works. I noticed that there were some websites that discount it, too.

  6. It has worked for me every single time. 100% success rate.
Sam's Club and Costco, some of them at least, have recently started carrying them too. Best Buy has for some time. GameDR same thing. The secret is to keep the disc wet at all times.

  7. Thanks, I have two disks that I had written off, I'm going to get one and give it a try.

  8. If it doesn't work the first time, stick it back in for another go around. It usually only takes me about three spins, but I have had to do up to 10 just to get a terribly scratched rental to play back in my home player. Too much resurfacing can permanantly ruin the disc, so just do a little at a time, use supplied buffer pad to shiny up and test. If you have already written off a couple of discs, then what have you got to loose?

  9. It's the old series, with Rod Serling. There's 6 discs in it with like 7 or 8 episodes on each. I rented this from the video store I always go to and the guy just got this in. I tried wiping it down again with a very soft tissue and I looked at it. A couple of very small hairline scratches, but doesn't look like it would cause any damage, but then again the smallest of scrates could affect it. I tried playing in my computer and again nothing. People treat these things like crap. That's what I don't like about rentals.

I think I'm toast. I'll have to look around somewhere for another copy.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

if renting, you should not be ripping and copying, it's against the rules here to post about warez
