I've come across the first DVD discs I need to copy which I can't shrink or remove enough data out of to fit on DVD5, so this will be my first attempt at DVD+R9 burning.

Normally I use VobBlanker to remove the rubbish and then DVD Shrink to fit them to DVD5, but in this instance there is very little rubbish to get rid of and the discs contain both multiple camera angles and ILV cells, neither of which the latest VobBlanker supports.

I can of course just make exact duplicate copies easily enough, but I'd really like to get rid of the copyright warning and the Warner Music animated logo which combined go for about 1 minute with a PUO preventing them being skipped.

Since VobBlanker can't handle it, can anyone recommend any other tools that can strip these annoying Vobs for me before I burn to DVD+R9?

DVD Shrink, use the Reauthor Mode. Drag and drop what you want to keep, hit "Backup".

  5. Why not use DVDDecrypter and checkmark all the "remove PUO" options. That way you don't mess with the structure and can just hit menu when the disc starts?

Not a movie. Phil Collins - Serious Hits... Live! is the double dual layer disc set.

I'm about to tackle a few D/L backups myself...Phil Collins Final Farewell Tour, Serious Hits Live and John Farnham's One Voice....let me know how it goes...
My wife wants FULL backups for her work computer(which is right here behind me in the same room as me)....if it were up to me I'd break them up.

Fortunately, in this case the only stuff I wanted to remove was the copyright message and the Warner Music logo which were both located in a title set which didn't have any multiangle features or ILV cells so in this case I was able to handle it with VobBlanker. I just processed only this one title set with the offending rubbish blanked out and put the reprocessed VOB file back in with all the other ones ripped from the original disc and it all works as it should.
