  1. I have the TV2000XP Expert and have everything working pretty well except the TV tuner. For some reason it just does not want to work with my cable hookup and sure could use some help getting it to work.

My home is wired for cable to most every room in the house. The "wiring" includes several splitters to accomodate all the cables and all of my TV's work fine with the cable.

I had an extra cable laying around and decided to disconnect the cable from a room that does not have a tv in it (strange as that may sound these days) and connected the spare cable to the splitter and then to the cap card. I did the required channel scan and other than a couple of very snowy channels, this card is not picking anything up from the cable.

I updated the drivers and application software from Leadtek's website and that didn't help. I bought a new cable and installed it. That didn't help. I finally connected a VCR in-line between the main cable splitter and the back of the cap card and I get really great reception as long as the VCR is turned on and use it as a tuner. Unfortunately, it is a pretty old model and I am limited to about 17 channels.

I have emailed Leadtek support and haven't heard a thing from them so I am hoping someone here might a solution to getting this thing to work right.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Vance

  2. What capture program are you using?
Did you specify CABLE as the tuner input, and not ANTENNA?
Did you do a channel scan using "all frequencies" or standard North American frequencies?

  3. I am using the bundled software that came with it - WinFast PVR(?). I did specify cable and not antenna. I did a "Scan Channels" and "Auto Fine Tune" for USA.

  4. You've done a lot of troubleshooting yourself.
Other than trying a different splitter, I tend to think the tuner has crapped out.
Can you test the card in a different computer?
