  1. I've tried copying a copy by draging it to the desktop and it works sometimes and other times it won't. Sometime it will start coping it to the desktop and right before it's done I get some error. I first rip the disc with MacTheRipper and then use DVD2oneX to compress and Toast to burn. I don't understand how I can copy a copy by dragging the Video_TS folder to the desktop and other times I can't. Most or all of the disc I rip are movie only rip. Even if I try to use Toast to just copy, it will start to do it but right when it's about to finish I get an error. Saying it may be copy protected or something. But it can't be copy protected if I rip and compressed it myself. I need an easy way to make a copy of a dvd copy I burned, or a sure way to do this.

Well if you are using toast just use the toast "Copy" section to copy your copy but save it as "Disc Image" first. Mount the "disc image" and then burn it.

Technically you don't have to mount the disc image you save with Toast. Just select it with the image file setting in the Toast Copy window and click burn. If you like, you can mount it and play the mounted image with DVD Player to check that all is okay before burning using the image file setting in the Copy window.

  5. Okay, I tried to mount the disk and save and it work okay with a full disk copy I had, but it seems to give me a problem with a movie only copy. With full dick copy, Toast will copy for me without a problem just with the copy disk option, it's with the moivie only disk copies is that I'm having the problem. All I want to do is to copy a movie only disk copy.

To burn a movie-only rip from a DVD you need to drag the VIDEO_TS to the Toast Video window with DVD Video selected. Do not select DVD Video from VIDEO_TS. You'll see the movie show up in the window, probably along with another zero-second title that you need to delete. Edit the text next to the Title image because this is going to become your DVD's menu.

Now click burn DVD if it will fit on your disc. If it doesn't fit, choose Save as Disc Image and use Popcorn to compress the disc image to fit your DVD.
