  1. I have the Full Screen Version bought at BestBuy. (Also tried on friends purchased copy to rule out possible source problem)

This problem only happens with the ripped VOB or on the fly decryption. Programs tested. SmartRipper 2.41, DVDdecrypter 3.5.4.0, AnyDVD 4.5.5.1, AnyDVD 4.6.3.1, VOB blanker 1.6.0.6

The problem does not appear when the original disc is being played with either PowerDVD, WinDVD or stand alone player.

When? During the part when Mr. Incredible finds the main computer on the island and logs on 1hr 28seconds into movie.

What? It starts to repeat skip (stutter) and progresses forward (kinda hard to explain) for about a minute. It then stops and is back to normal.

If anyone else has experienced this please post.

Additional Info: Running Windows 98 clean other than burning and ripping apps needed, Pioneer AO5.

Beleieve me, there is NO NEW Copy Protection on The Incredicles. There cannot be.

There is a LIMIT to the level of copy protections studios implement on DVDs and yet have it playable on a DVD Player.

  6. Denvers Dawgs,

I tried 2 copies mine and my friends. As stated before the origianl disc plays fine with powerdvd, windvd, and stand alone player. It only happens with the ripped vob or when anydvd is running.

No errors using dvdinfo on both disc.

I'll try ripping it on a NTFS volume on my WinXP Pro system.

    Edit: ( same problem occurs)
    -----------------------------------

Edit: This is some type of new protection, fu_k i'll go back to bestbuy and try to exchange this for the widescreen version. Nobody seems to have problems with that one.

I think I know what your problem(s) is....

I usually use smartripper, vobblanker, dvdshrink, and nero for my setup and I had no problems ripping the whole disc. It wasn't until I got into vobblanker that I found out that there were some interlace scenes. There was about five of them and mainly in areas where there was some readable text on the screen like the main title, Mr. Incredibles posters, the computer room, etc. Disney decided to interlace these scenes with both English, French, and Spanish texts. Took me a while to figure out a way to just author the English version of the film with it's menu and no extras. When you rip the film direct from vobs, you'll get problems. If you reauth in dvdshrink and choose program one or stream one you will have no problems.

    Hope this helps

The problem is you bought the fullscreen version. The OAR gods are frowning on you.

I would suggest that anyone with these problems send me the disc. Someone is already sending me their Widescreen disc that they claim fails ripping after about 100MB. I'm trustworthy - PM me for my postal address. I can tell you in 20 minutes if there's protection on there, and turn your disc right back around to you.

  14. Febre,

    You are right.

    dvdguy4,

Two differnt systems used and two different discs used (both were full screen). One system is win98 with pioneer a05, the other system is winxp pro with nec 2500.

Back to the previous, I exchanged my copy for widescreen version and no problem. I'll have my friend do the same, or just have him do what Febre said.

Edit: I'm sorry! I ran the vobs through IFOedit and found out it was an Angle problem.... kept angle one deleted angle 2 and 3. Problem gone.

THERE IS NO NEW PROTECTION. Odd thing is that the widescreen version I got didn't run into this problem.

The fullscreen version did some weird angle crap in a couple places to keep some of the text readable or some such.
