  1. It is a vr4940 unit will not pull tape in so if you push it in it wont eject any idea's..Sorry if this is the wrong forum

  3. Any VCR I've had long enough eventually had a tape mechanism problem, something has mis-aligned. You can possibly bring it to a TV/VCR repair place (if you can find one these days) but unless the VCR cannot be replaced for some reason it will probably cost you alot more to fix it then the buy a new one...

  4. yeah, I called the local tv repair shop the other day to enquire about vcrs and he said, "vcrs? why do you want vcr? Vcr is dead!" Honest, that's the response I got.
    Gonna be like shoe repair before long!

  5. You should give you model number of VCR for us.

    Unplug it, unscrew the top, real easy to do, the tape is probably caught on a roller, you can see that. Undo it & it should come out. Don't use that tape again. Get a new one.

    Contact the repair service or do something better, get yourself a DVD and backup your precious videos on DVDs. I've had a problem like this 2 years ago - my neighbor dropped by to watch his video. He took my VCR to a repair shop around here...That was for about U$ 30.00 but I seldom use that old thing.....
