I have a video in 4:3 format. On this video, there are black bars at the top and bottom. At the bottom black bar, there is an occasional scrolling text message that I want to get rid of. Since it's on black, it's easy to get rid of. Can you do this in Virtualdub/MOD? I only want the overlay to be occasional.![]()

It can be done in VirtualDub (crop), but not without reencoding.

How do I crop? Won't it lost part of the video? Since it's only one small point in the AVI and the black bars disappear to show a standard 4:3 video halfway into the video. I don't want to crop out that video.

Logoaway filter, or Region Remove filter.

Easiest way is to crop the black on the bottom, then add a black box back. Then export your video as another AVI.
