I was watching a backed-up DVD and all the sudden I got these huge blocks of pixels and the whole thing started skipping. After fast-forwarding some more, these problems went away but the audio was out of sync.
I tried playing it on the pc and it was fine. I played it on standalone player again and those problems weren't there. I performed a scan on Nero CD-DVD Speed but I don't understand the data.
The stand alone player is Panasonic RV32. The media I've used is Ritech from Japan.
What could be the problem? Maybe there was something on the disc or the player was overheating? Could it be a bad burn?
Here are the results from disc quality test:

It could be a bad burn on good media
It could be a good burn on bad media
It could be a compatability issue between your player and the media
Things to note :
PC DVD readers/writers are usually more robust at reading disks thatn standalone players.
Even good media can have a bad batch.
Looking at your player in the DVD Players list (to your left) shows it to be a fairly hit&miss player when it comes to DVD-R/+R disks.Read my blog here.

It rates the different media with comments about each one of them. There are pages of DVD media, so make sure you look at the right model number. Ritek (and other media manufacturers) have several different types and the quality can be different.
