  1. Hi

This might be in the wrong section of the forum to post this, but i really dont know where to post it so..

I want to know of a good software that i can use to overdub audio onto the dvd and reauthor it, i have used tmpgenc before and i dont like it very much, it makes awfull menus.

I tried DVD Maestro but to my knowledge it doesnt work with VOBīs? or do i have to convert the dvd to mpeg-2 and then reauthor them?.. either way, if anyone has a good guide on this subject or just give me help, please do

    thanks

  3. OK, i got dvd lab now, it seems to be easier to convert the dvd back to mpeg-2?.. im a complete n00b on this, and how do i convert it to mpeg-2?

one thing i dont get, if i want to overdub audio to my already existing dvd, can i do that in dvd lab? i noticed that the preview window doesnt give me any sound

  4. There is no audio preview in Dvdlab.
To import your videos, Right click in the assets window, and browse to where the .vob's are.
Select the Video1_1.vob, and then choose "join and demux" when prompted.
Import the audio you want, and discard the demuxed audio.
Put both into movie 1, author and burn.

  5. but how do know the sound is synced with the video then?

the thing is this, i have to sync the audio from an analog tape recorder > cd to my dvd and i have to edit the sound onto the video

  6. Compile it and test it in a GOOD player on your computer.
If it's not in sync, adjust and try again.
Goldwave is a good application for adjusting and filtering audio.
Sony Soundforge would be the best, because it can import the video, and audio and allow you to sync much quicker.
Nobody said it would be easy

  10. i just realized that the seperate files end up in the same folder as the dvd :P
anyway, now i have synced the first track and i want to check how it looks.. BUT, the wav file is in 44,100hz and i need to resample it to 48000 to make it work with tmpg, but everytime i do this in soundforge, it crashes!!... is there another way to do this?

edit/ ill try to ask this in the audio section too..

  11. Get ffmpeggui and transcode all audio to 48khz 224kbps AC3, then import to dvdlab.
