So that's what I am currently using to capture. However I just installed the SB Live and for the life of me cannot get it to mute when recording. Has anyone using Winfast PVR and those 2 pieces of hardware managed to do this.
And before you ask I was able to do it when I using the onboard sound card on the motherboard.

I assume you mean mute what is coming out of the speakers? Just hit the mute in either PVR or on your volume icon.

Sorry should have mentioned that it happens when I program and have silent recording ticked on. I often set recordings for overnight but of course I can't wake up and mute them then. Which is the real problem.

Turn the speakers off before you go to bed
Just mute them in the standard audio panel.Cheers, Jim

reboot: obviously that is a solution but not the one I am looking for. If I am not the last one to use the computer and whoever it is doesn't turn the speakers off the problem is still there.

If you look at the schedule after you have saved a program to be recorded, is the silent recording still checked? I have the same card and program and it works for me. Try another version of PVR.
