  1. I've been trying for weeks and days on how to convert a AVI file into a video_ts folder, but just don't know the best way to do so. Does anyone know the best way to do this? If you do, can you please provide a step-by-step process. This would be so helpful.

    Thanx.

  2. Drop the AVI, select "DVD ffmpeg" or "DVD mpeg2enc" target format, click "Encode", wait for the "Finished" message.

  3. Ok I did what you said to do and it worked great making a video_ts folder. But, when I played the video_ts folder with Apple's DVD player program, it skips throughout the whole movie. Do you know why this is happening and know how I can solve this problem?

    Thanx for your help Major.

  4. Did you use ffmpeg or mpeg2enc? Sometimes ffmpeg can create bitrate peaks (though they should not affect a software player, try also playing with VLC). Also, try to burn a DVDRW (if you can) and test your player response with both mpeg2enc and ffmpeg sample encodings.

  5. Ok, I fixed the skipping problem and for some reason dvdmpeg2enc makes the avi file a mpeg2 file. It doesn't make it a video_ts folder for some reason, but dvdffmpeg does make it video_ts folder. I also wanted to know how to make the video file widescreen, if it's possible.

    Thanx.

  6. To make the video widescreen you should set autosize to "DVD 16:9" immediately before encoding. About the missing VIDEO_TS, you should make sure you don't use the same filename as the previous encode. You may reauthor the MPG file into a VIDEO_TS folder by loading the MPG in "Tools", enabling "Author as DVD" and clicking "Author".

  7. Ok, I will do what you said. Also, to author as dvd, do u mux as dvd or go to post-processing and author as dvd? When you select author as dvd in post-processing it immediately selects avi divx as a target in the summary tab. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that.

  8. To author as DVD, proceed as follows.

    1. Click the "Tools" tab
    2. Click the first "browse.." field. It will ask you to select a file. Select the MPG file.
    3. In the left area of the "Tools" tab there is a checkbox named "Author as DVD". Enable it.
    4. In the right area of the "Tools" tab there is a button named "Author". Click it.
    5. Done

  9. Thanx for your help Major. Do you know when version 1 will be released?
