  1. I have a .mpg movie file which is perfectly is sync. I encoded the movie file with tmpgenc xpress to a compatible dvd format (m2v ... so i can make a dvd) The result is a mpg file with big out of sync issues. I have tried this guide from videohelp https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/140540.php
    without any luck. I fixed the problem with the current area that was out of sync... but it then caused the rest of the audio to be out sync.

    my goal is to get this mpg file to a dvd with menus and everything.
    I use tmpgenc to encode, and dvd maestro to author.

    Thanks

  2. Demux the audio & video streams from your mpeg file and then import the elementary streams in DVD Maestro to author the dvd.

    Gradual sync issue makes me suspect the source and dest frame rates are different?

  4. Fixed the problem... when I encoded the original file from Ulead, it was made of 2 .mpg's and 1 .avi. The result file was .mpg, and it did a terrible job of encoding it/keeping sync. So i converted all files to .avi , ended up having to do some re-sampling in soundforge to get audio right, then i re-encoded it. You could call it a unique situation

    MPEG2>>>Audio Sync ;
    I can have a synced mpg2 (DVD compliant) file , looks and sounds good, with all editing done. But if I prepare for burn , by adding chapters, thats where I then get sync problem. (either on burned disc , or "saved to HD" as .vob set)

    Regarding best usage of drives , and defrag...as these are two points brought up in audio/video sync discussions;

    When I defrag, any .vob files are left untouched, as are .mpg files that approach 1G size...even tho' there is plenty of free space on the drive.

    Re: drive usage. Way back I thought that it would be best to have files ready to burn on 2nd drive, to free up primary drive where burn program runs from. Agree?? Now, I wonder about that "Temp" folder that many programs need to write to. Would that be the more important part of this process , IF it is the location of burn app.s final "ready for burn" files. Confused about this. Reply may differ as to whether beginning with an .mpeg movie file , or prepared set of .vob files. ??
