New Video Effects In Premiere

Hi....Ive been playing with Premiere Pro for a while now and creating cool movies. But now I need some transitions and video effects that really stand out. The standard effects and getting really boring to use. Does anybody know any cool website tutorials about new premiere effects?

ps-websites relating to after effects would also be helpful.

I think you need to be a little more specific. What kind of effect are you trying to achieve?

There's tons of effect plugins available, but without knowing what you're looking for, it's difficult to pinpoint a single location.

www.pluginz.com is a good place to start though.

This site provides descriptions of most of the commercial plugins available on the market for most of the available editing and effect software packages (and in many cases, the site also has links to demos and tutorials to try before you buy).

On a different note, what may seem "cool" as the creator, won't seem cool to your viewing audience. Effects should be used sparingly, with a specific end result in mind -- not just for the sake of using effects. I've seen too many videos ruined with ridiculous transitions and silly effects thrown in just for the hell of it.

Of course, if you're just creating videos for your own enjoyment (knowing that the general public will never see them), then go crazy with effects. It can be a lot of fun to experiment (although some of the better plugins will cost you a small fortune).
