Hi all,
I have been using Sonic MyDVD to convert and burn DVDs and VCDs of my home movies taken with a DVD camcorder...no problems whatsoever until today. For some reason when I try to add the files to a project, the program just locks up after clocking for several seconds. Tried opening with Tmpgenc and Ulead DVD factory, same thing.
Like I said, never had a problem before and I've done everything the same as a dozen times before. Even tried opening files that I've converted and burned before with these programs and still same problem!
Any ideas what my problem could be? Will be glad to provide any info needed, just let me know.
Thx, Booma

Have you made any changes to your PC recently. I mean installed / uninstalled any software, codecs / codec packs etc.
When I was born I was so shocked that I could'nt speak for 18 months. -
This sounds like a classic case of "something has happened".
Are you certain you have made NO changes, of any kind, to the PC? New software, updates, deleted files, any new hardware either internal or external? Has anyone else touched the PC, or had access to it?
Is it connected to the internet? If so, what kind of virus and spyware protection do you have? Do you have any teenage children in the house?
Are Windows automatic updates turned on?
Would guess either some software "update" did it, possible virus or spyware activity, could even be a codec corruption or error in the Registry.
Something as simple as re-installing DVD player software should fix it. But check all the above first. Something has changed, and you don't want it to happen again. -
LOL Nelson, I agree....it is a classic case
Could be so many different things...others have access to the pc, windows updates are on.... I will just uninstall and reinstall video related stuff until I find the culprit.
Thanks,

I'm kind of having a similar issue - I cannot seem to get either TMPgenc EXpress or DVD Santa to accept any mpeg-2 files to convert to DVD. Express just flat out locks up & sucks all available memory until I kill it , and DVDSanta errors out with "unsupported audio stream".
These are SVCD mpegs, uncompressed from their bin/cues. Thought It might be a missing codec so I installed an mpeg-2 codec which Gspot reports as installed. & working
I can play the original mpegs in MPC without any problems... I too have made no software changes to my system that I'm aware of. -
Misery loves company.
I tried uninstalling every video related program except for TMPGENC which I bought and installed well over a year ago. I tried opening my home videos (mpeg2) and it still froze up on me. Just for grins, tried opening an avi and an mpeg1, same thing. Having failed with this attempt, I punted and tried to do a system restore back to late December, also with no success.
I can open and watch all of these files with windows media player and I can still backup dvds with no problem but I need to get my Easter vids on disc!
Thx in advance for any help
