Will a stand alone digital DVD recorder capture video from a VCR playing old analogue VHS tapes, without having anything else such as software, video capture device, and if so,would you just hook VCR and DVD recorder together with RCA A/V cable,(yellow, orange, white) on both ends?
Next question- Can you then copy the disc you just made from the VHS tape to your computer by inserting it in the DVD or CD drive on your computer??
As you can tell by this post, I am about the dumbest person around when it comes to electronics. I would though, appreciate any help.

I just bought the Pioneer 220-S DVD recorder. I've copied some analog VHS tapes to DVD with no problems.
I use a cheap $60.00 SONY VHS. You can insert the disc burned from the dvd recorder but it has to be recorded in the VIDEO MODE and the disc has to be finalized. The VIDEO MODE will enable the disc to be in compatible in standalone dvd players. Remember to finalize the disc.
