I tell ya.... i have read so many comment's about this on threads... and it has been one of the big reason's, but not the only one, that i don't reply to alot of post's.... but lately it has become more annoying... i guess after 4-5 years it starts to build upand i thought, i have seen it mentioned before but could be wrong, would not be a first,
but i think it should be made manditory to at least put where you are from!!!! if not also your PC spec's.... i've been on another MB for years now that made it manditory to put where you are from..
Sooooo many ask questions without specific details as to where they are from or what format they use, or their pc specs & that would soooooo much help in figuring out an answer.....
Okay... rant over![]()

I agree, at least on the thought to make the computer specs mandatory. It seems like a lot of the newbie questions could be easily answered in a single reply if you had a clue what OS, etc., they were using. It's like detective work sometimes prying the info out of them.

Sometime's not even detective work... it's like you have to pull a "pulp fiction" on them and torture the info out of them
If you are gonna come here and only post 1-18 time's at least try to help us help you... just a littlehell... i see people with 100's of post's and not ONE DAMN thing filled out in their profile
like it's so damn hard...

Some balk at putting their location, saying it gives potential stalkers more info. But it sure is nice to have when sorting PAL versus NTSC

Thanks Baldrick. I think this will help. For their location, their country of origin is more than sufficient for me. Email, home addresses or real names are definitely not a good idea.
EDIT: Is my computer broke or did you demote yourself? You're shown as a lowly 'member' below your avatar. -

Another one that is annoying is when some members ask a question in the computer forum like "How do I fix this error screen that keeps coming up when I run TMPGEnc?" And then they log off. And the Computer Details in their profile is blank
