  1. hi,

I have authored/ burn a family video using Vegas and DVDA , and it plays fine on my standalone DVD player as always, unfortunately ive sent that DVD-R video to my parents back home but before sending it i made an ISO copy to my hardisk using decrypter, now I burn that ISO and when played it just loops into the intro file (an mpeg file before the main menu) the link to the main menu is somehow missing, I tried different media but they all the same...im thinking of corrupted IFO file.. tried IFOedit...but its really hard to fixed IFO with the menu thing...by the way when I Hit DVD play on IFOedit after opening the video_ts.IFO it gives me an error " no DVD Volume found" and it wont play....noow im stuck i need advise how to get this fixed...im thinking of changing he vobs to mpeg again and reathour the whole thing....but but...ive spent to much time making the menu (yes it was a good/fancy menu) to give up so easy on this one...any help is greatly appreciated...thank you

.im thinking of corrupted IFO file..
if so, can you resort to the *.bup files (the backup files in the VIDEO_TS folder)? Just copy them to *.ifo (getting rid of the old ones).

  3. hi george thanks for the reply,
i've done that .bup thing, its still the same. Im guessing both IFO and BUP are corrupted.

anyway, tried to convert the vobs to mpeg and reauthor it with DVDA 2 but it wont accept the ac3 encoded audio (bummer) now i have to demux the audio in tmpgenc and convert it to wav., what a hassle.....
if anyone could give me a better suggestion, ill really appreciate it...thanks

Would it be possible to use something like IFOEdit or PGCEdit to recreate the ifo files ? Haven't tried, so I'm just throwing it out there.

I'm thinking its your folks DVD Player, not the disk.

  7. I tried recreating the IFO file with IFOedit but its only able to recreate ifo file for multiple vobs not including the menu, if its possble I dont know how.

No its not the player...101% sure...tried it with different players with same result, even when played to my PC (windows media,WinDVD and MCE DVD player) the mpeg intro just loops.

And No, I know wat ur thingking its not the Authoring, coz my first burned DVD just plays fine, I just dont have it now.

Not sure if your parents have a dvd-rom/burner drive that can read your dvd disc. If so, maybe they can send you the *.ifo files (they shouldn't be that big -- perhaps email them wouldn't be too bad)???

    hi,
I thought about that but there is a "little" problem there, my parents are both retired and they settled in a quite and remote place in Asia, so remote that there is no Internet access no PC, even the DVD i sent them took a month to get there..lol..

but anyway Ive reauthored the whole thing, rip the menu as video clip in Shrink and rebuild the menu, im still working on it though, thanks for the replies..
