I have a VOB file that will play sound through VLC media player but no sound when I burn to disk or play through Windows Media player

do you know what the audio is encoded with? AC3? LPCM? MP2?
Windows Media Player can not decode (play back) AC3 audio "out of the box." You would have to install (add) AC3 support.
As for getting no audio from the recorded disk, I have seen some other threads discussing that issue, try a search.Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think.
