hi,
ive got a couple of avi files from the net,ive used win avi 6.3 to encode straight to a dvd folder, and burned the disc, simple.there is some issue of pixalation, but the quality wasnt perfect anyway.
would using something like tmpgenc really make that much difference? to the end result,id have to encode to m2v then use an authoring program, then burn to disc.
my question is,to people who do regular encodes,go for quality or comprimise with winavi (im presuming tmpgenc woul give better results!)
cheers
jonx

If the source avi has the quality to make it worth while, use a dedicated encoder.
If it's crap to begin with, it doesn't matter much.
Crap in = Crap out, and not even tmpgenc can do much with it.Cheers, Jim
