ASF to MPEG 2 problem

I've tried a half dozen programs that normally work perfectly!

TMPGenc Plus 2.5
Broilsoft ASF Converter
ReJig
VDub
VDub Mod
XVideo too

None of them work they all say that there is some form of error when I go to recode them. The error messages differ. The VDubs said something about Microsuck owning the rights to ASF format and it wont process it.

The others said random things, some just froze. What else could I try? I can't even rip audio from the file using GoldWave.

I just did this one worked the best so far but still not working lol

And if so how can I get them to covert anyway? The person who made them isn't the brightest bulb on the marque.. he thinks he hit copy protect when he captured them... >

No I haven't tried that. I just assumed if Plus didn't work Xpress wouldn't either. :\
