How Can I Get a VCD onto iMovie

The question is in the subject....

I made a crappy movie almost three years ago, and I would like to put it on iMovie so I can make it less crappy, not too much less crappy, just a little bit less crappy. Does that make sense?

One way to do this is to drag the video CD into the Toast 6 Video window, select the title and click the export button. Toast will convert it to a DV file that you can edit in iMovie. There are other applications that can export it to DV or .mov as well.

i do not have toast. i need to use something that is free due to cash flow.

or ( some) money. Try ffmpegx..it's $15.
