I downloaded a 30 trial of Ulead DVD Workshop 2 to see what it can do. I have Ulead VideoStudio 8 and have made numerous DVDs with much success you just are limited with the DVD menus. After looking at this Workshop program it is going to take me 30 days just to figure it out. I don't know how to build a menu with links and stuff. I tried to follow their online help but that only made it worse. Can anyone who has successfully created menus using Workshop please explain it to me in simple english so I can know how to use the program.
Thanks.

IMHO, it's much easier (and versatile) than TDA.
Double click on the "add menu" icon on the bottom, click on the menu to add text, then grab one of your videos (right side column) and drop it on the text to make a text link. Import cropped images, select buttons and drop it on your menu as a button (just repeat the steps for text links).
I still use TDA for the simple, no-frills vids, though. -

Thanks for your replies. I have been playing around with it and the smoke is clearing but I feel like there is more to learn. I am not confident with this program yet. I am sure that once you guys help me and I figure it out I will sit back and say, "This is easier than I thought." I remember being the best DVD coaster maker in the city before I figured out the process using Ulead VideoStudio. Now it is super easy.
I always use AC3 Dolby Digital for my video files to put more on the disk at the highest quality setting. I notice in the final burn project properties that I don't have the option of using Dolby Digital. Is this a plug-in for Workshop? My last video I converted to disk is still on my computer and it is in Dolby Digital Mpeg 2 format. That is the video I am currently playing with trying to setup menus with Workshop. Because it is in AC3 format and Workshop does not give me that option to burn will it cause a problem when I put it to disk?
Also in my final view to see my work, my intro assigned video does not have sound. Using UVS8 I created a slow motion video with an audio soundtrack. Why is Workshop not playing the audio?

Yeah you need the AC3 Plugin ,but I have heard that if you do use AC3 the final DVD will have the AC3,but you cant encode to AC3 or preview it without the Plugin.

DVD WS 2.x (Full or Express) includes Dolby Digital encoding (2-channel stereo). The TRIAL does not decode or encode Dolby Digital.
