  1. Hi, you read it right, I want to add borders to my divx files

I currently have a phillips DVP 642 and it plays Divx files, the only problem is that when I play divx files with hard subs they do no display the entire subititle.

If I wanted to make a mpeg 2 out of it I would just use tmpeg and resize the image in the center with a black border all around; is there a way to do this with virtual dub?? Maybe using a filter or some sort?

I would really prefer to use something that does not re-encode it, as I do not want to lose quality

    thanks guys

    Chris

use the resize filter. Set the resize to be the same as you have now, but use the expanded frame settings to add borders. You really don't have a choice about reencoding. If you change the content of the frame, you have to reencode.
