  1. i have been burning DVDs with DVD X copy with no problem until today. when it asks to "Start" the burn, i now get the error messages "Cannot Write Archive.txt", "Unable to Create Vob", and "ErrorIfo"

i have uninstalled and re-installed the program with no success. also, after re-installation, it doesn't ask to re-enter the ID or password numbers. Which means it has left something behind on the computer on uninstall.

anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

    thanks

  2. download a trial of anydvd and re-try it. This may help. Otherwise, I know some movies gave me similar trouble, ie: Jay and Silent Bob, Kings of Comedy and some other one

  6. besides the above comments, just make sure the temp directory actually exists..if you specify a dir that doesn't exist, I think it chokes...

  7. DaveS,
It worked. The temp folder was not there, so i made it and it worked. I can't believe I missed that one. Although, I have never had that happen in any other burning software that i have used. Thanks.

As for hecklernumber1's reply; AnyDVD didn't work.

As for ghoster's reply; I agree that the software should be thrown in the trash, except that it is the only one out there at this time that will burn DVDs. I say that because when I burn on the $1 Ritek DVD+RWs, which i have been using for the last year and burning with Nero trial versions with no problems at all, there are an extreme amount of glitches with X Copy. Using $2 DVD+R Memorex and burning with X Copy produces less noticable glitching (but some). Also FYI, the X Copy burned movies do not play in my RCA recorder/player but do play in the sister's Sony player.

If anyone knows of another DVD burner, please let me know. Nero's new version doesn't burn DVDs anymore. Nero doesn't sell the old versions anymore, and the only ones available that I can find are the OEM versions. I bought one and it doesn't work on my system.

    Thanks

  8. ^^ I don't get the last 2 paragraphs. You're saying DVD X Copy is the "only one out there at this time that will burn DVDs" This is 2005, there are tons of programs that burn DVDs. My choice being DVD Shrink combined with DVD Decrypter, both free! Also, shouldn't this be in DVD to DVDR?
