  1. i was trying this app the other day and i have an avi of 700 megs, i load it in and the program says it needs 18 gigs to process!!!!!!!!! now if i did that and had to shrink it down , what on earth would i be left with, i couldn't even imagine shrinking 18gigs to 4.7. is this right? and if not, what app can i use to do the trick of converting avi to dvd, part 2 is avi is 23.9 fps so convertinh this what would i have to do to smooth out the motion, it plays like jerky jerk on my pc already.

Avi2dvd needs all that space for the entire conversion process it does, NOT for just the finished file. One of the issues I have with this app is that I can't seem to be able to save the finished files where I want, but only to the same folder the souce is in. Extremely limiting, unless I've missed something.
Anyways, try doing a conversion on a drive with enought freespace, & you will see that the results will be a size to fit a DVD5.
