  1. I have some video files that are in the same format (SVCD) and I would like to add them together.

Basically, what I have is a film and a couple deleted scenes. What I would like to do is re-insert these scenes. What program can i use to do this?

Asumeing that all the files you want to combine are of the same specs, fps, frame size, bitrate etc... You can use TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools option to merge the files without any reencodeing hence no quality loss. Just rename the file extension of the SVCD's "DAT" files to "MPG" then use the "Merge & Cut" function to combine the MPEG2 files. Its pretty straight forward.

  3. ahh. i forgot about TMPGEnc's merge/cut feature. it should work, but i would have to cut the main film at the points where the deleted scenes need to be inserted.

    thanks...

  4. (i have five total svcd compliant files)
when i try using TMPGEnc to merge the files, the audio is off-sync. the first few minutes, which are from the first file, play just fine. immediately after that is an "undeleted scene" followed by the rest of the film. and all but that first few minutes has audio sync problems.

So, i tried using EO Video to combine them, and it wouldnt let me. i believe it said the file format was wrong? they are all the same format, but maybe it was because i used VBR? I'm re-encoding as CBR to see if it will let me combine them now.

I would use VideoReDo to combine, but that program is not working properly...

  5. I may suggest the following procedure (it is longer than TMPG though, but worth to try)
    1. Cut the original file with Cuttermaran. As you have TMPG you can cut at every frame (not only I frame).
    2. In a separate folder move the cutted parts and the scenes you want to insert. Rename them in following way:
    Video01.mpg (1st part of original)
    Video02.mpg (deleted scene 1)
    Video03.mpg (2nd part of original)
    .....
    and so on.
Start ReJig -> file mode. It will load all Video01+Video02+Video03..... and in the right window there are the video and audio ES streams listed. Mark the video, click demux , wait,. mark the audio, click demux, wait. Multiplex them together. Good luck.
