  1. Has anyone tried saving video from Final Cut Express using MP4 / h.264?
    Wondering if it works.

Also does ffmpegx use h.264 for it's MP4? - the date on that program is from around Jan 05.

    Read the friendly manual.

  3. I have read that in the past, and I suppose I should have said "can ffmpegx use h.264?" instead of "does it use..."

The manual says xvid in a mp4 container.

So the Final Cut Express question is still out there as well as can ffmpegx
use a h.264 codec for PSP.

    I'll have to try it.

  4. An update on iPSP. I bit the bullet and purchased a licence for v 2.5.3. I can get some encodes to work, but having problems with VIDEO_TS to AVC transcode producing very large files. Support on http://support.kaisakura.com seems patchy. Anyone on this forum got experience?

  5. don't knock yourself out... just use Toast 7. it has video export to the PSP.

add just about any video... including DVD title or chapter or DivX file and export to MP4 with thumbnail for PSP.

AVC has yielded only large files for me. The encode times are also incredibly long (compared to the MP4 encoder)

iPSP's MP4 encoder (via Forty-Two) is the easiest method to use so far. Being able to choose the final file size is important when you have limited space!

My other issue is trying to take a DVD with several episodes and getting each episode compressed. I am only able to get the first one!

In Forty_two you can choose which titles to convert from the dvd with the drop down "title" box. This allows conversion of all episodes on the dvd.
