  2. Use CQmatic + CalcuMatic. Then the audio is in account.

As I understand it, the templates do not account for audio - that's something you've got to factor in yourself, by using either the tools that you can only get by paying the $2.99 entry fee at kvcd.net, or the tools you can get for free here. Also, any help you need with them is free here also.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Before worrying too much about the audio, I would suggest trying a few test encodes with these templates. Not everybody agrees that thay produce "high quality dvd" output. My own tests on these a while back did not impress me withe quality of the result. A lot depends on your source material and your 'quality threashold'. Also, despite their claims, the results of these templates do not play on every standalone.

  5. The quality has improved, from about 6 months ago, especially in the full and half D1 templates. The K(S)VCD templates still suck (IMHO).
They gave up trying to cram 8 hours D1 and 16 hours 1/2 D1 onto one disk, cut that in half, and the quality is "reasonable"...about VHS quality, maybe slightly better.
Works well on poorly encoded avi's (LowMotion mpeg4, for example).
Also works well on TV captures.
I found they still need a bit of tweaking, and that using 23.976 with pulldown was a total waste. Just encode at 29.97, interlaced source (unless you know for sure it's not), but only if the source is 29.97. MSE fast.

  6. KDVD- it is not only the template. Kdvd means a DVD source ,the template, CQ encoding and Avisynth with optimal script. Taken together nothing can beat it for 6h on DVD. Unfortunately, very rare they come together . :P

  7. They rarely come together because Avisynth is a bitch to work with. Not everyone want's to learn a new language just to encode a few movies.
