  1. Hi ,

1.Does anybody know how to make a DVD with only AUDIO MP3 files ?

I was able to make/burn a CD with only AUDIO MP3 files and my DVD player(APEX1500) has no problem to play it.

But if I do the same with a DVD , the player returned "disk error".

    2. please recommend a good CD ripper :I have used several free CD ripper SW but they usually create pretty bad quality MP3 with default settings(even at 128kb rate)

    thanks,T

    1. I use DVD-Lab Pro and I don't believe it will accept MP3 files. I use .wav files or ac3.

    2. I use CDEX to rip to .wav files and I have had good luck with it. I then use AUDACITY to convert the 44.1 KHZ files to 48 KHZ to make them DVD compliant.

    I use Nero - Choose DVD/Audio/Make MP3 DVD.

Most DVD players will not work when trying to play DVD/MP3's

I have been able to successfully play in only 2 players.

  4. thanks, but DVD-lab pro is expensive (>$200) AND as you mentioned will not support MP3.

I heard about audio DVD and TMPgenc but I thought there might be some better other tools.

sony dvd architect is incredible for this...drag drop mp3 or wav or ac3 and make button menus with cover art AND even make each album/song show the cover art (or any graphic) while playing (takes up some space for graphics but not much..you could choose no graphic or plain black bmp, etc). converts all audio to 2ch ac3 upon compile/render. you can 16-20 albums of mp3 rips on one dvd-5, with complete menu composition if so desired. no better tool to do what you are trying...it's fun!

If you want random play then the player has to handle dvd-mp3. Creating and audio dvd with audio dvd creator (very limited menu authoring but works) or dvd architect (full menu authoring) works great but basically think of each song as a chapter and you can't do random play on chapters of a dvd. Each album is a title set and each song is a chapter, etc.
