Well, what a day! I was using the same Maxell 8X DVD-R (knock knock MADE IN JAPAN) which I've been using with no problems, and suddently 8 coasters in a row.........I tried uninstall/re-install Nero which made no difference and finally switched to Verbatim and problems solved!

How likely is it to have a bad batch of discs in a 50/pk?, the first 15 discs were all burned OK with no problems...but from disc #16 till #23 they were all BAD! Called up Maxell and they asked me to send them back for warranty replacement! men....

It is not impossible for something like this to happen. At least they offered to replace the faulty discs.
Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think.

Thanks Skith, I guess I just couldn't accept the fact that most people believe discs made in Japan are superior than those made else where (including myself), and see what happened, no coaster yet with Sony's and Verbatim's (both made in Taiwan) and having 8 coasters with Maxell's (made in Japan)...

No matter how good some discs are, you're bound to run into some bad batches sometimes or another.
