i just bought a "sound blaster digital music"
the line in is working but the line out is not. al the settings are right, its just no signal is comin from there. anyone else got one?

nm, i dont it
wen i plugged it in, windows sed "ur new hardware its ready to use. the speakers worked but some things dint. so i put the cd in and installed the drivers that came with it. its workin now. wonder wat drivers xp had installed?

generic (read old) SB drivers. Did the same with my cheapie SB Live 5.1

Can't remember exactly what worked and what didn't. I hust remember that the XP drivers were just enough to get the basics going (i.e. output to speakers), but I had to install the creative drivers to get everything else working. It is similar to gfx drivers. XP ships with a basic set of nvidia drivers. It's enough to display the desktop, but try playing quake II and you'll get a BSOD.

For me, nothing worked until i had to install the creative drivers supplied on a cd.
