Do you mean WMV? Run the file through AVIcodec or Gspot and post the attributes. A small file size and good quality are generally from a good quality source file and proper encoder settings. Not that complicated, just takes some studying of the 'Guides' <<<< to the left.

  3. windows media encoder

i've tried out a few settings and i got satisfying results, but nothing as good as the japanese man...

buzz me at nestea4chris if you wanna see the vid..

i tried gspot and it's all n/a everywhere, the file extension of the vids is .wmv

  4. wouldnt mind seeing the vid
    dont have aim tho

realmedia cartoons cough*south park*cough can be compressed to about 1.5megabytes/minute and still look good

wmv seems to give decent results at the 512kilobit (64kilobytes per second)

would be interested to know how someone has achieved good results if at lower bitrate than that

  5. thanks for vid

    File : 533 KB (533 KB), duration: 0:00:17, type: ASF, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 14 %

    Video : 584 KB, 281 Kbps, 22.117 fps, 320*240 (4:3), WMV3 = Windows Media Video 9, Supported

    Audio : 73 KB, 35 Kbps, 32000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x161 = Windows Media Audio 9, Supported

    i think its an asf
not sure on how to make them but have seen them before with suprisingly visible picture at 1-2mb/minute

windows movie maker (tho one free with windows xp) would probably get similar results
but file may be double the size

  6. its due to the nature of the video it just simple shapes and minimal colour

i have reencoded using windows movie maker at 218kbps (even lower bitrate) and here is the result

    http://homepage.ntlworld.com/wynfordjones/218.wmv

could probably get away with an even lower bit rate than that tbh

the difference in quality could come down to how good the initial capture of the file is
do you use a screen capture program like CamStudio
or are you recording via a tv card
