  1. Normally when i get a movie, i don't watch it on my computer 'cuz it's too uncomfortable, so i burn them...lately i have just been getting one .avi file and converting it to dvd files...but i have a couple movies that are split into cd1 and cd2 avi files.

is there any way i can merge the two so they are 1 and they burn correctly? or if i just put both files in nero ultra eidtion..6 or whatever, will it work? please help, asap.

I think you're better off converting both files to DVD-compliant MPEGs seperately, then letting your authoring software do the joining.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. so, convert the 2 files separately first, then once they are both DVD format, join them with vdub?

    no. vdub isn't authoring software

convert to DVD-compliant MPEG-1/2, then use TMPGEnc DVD Author or your favorite authoring software (the software that takes your MPEG files and converts them into IFOs, BUPs and VOBs for you) to join them.
    If in doubt, Google it.
