  1. 1.option: PINNACLE STUDIO DV 500plus=900$
    2.option: PINNACLE DC10+ and STUDIO DV=350$

the main difference,is in in prices
BEST BUY for BEST what YOU CAN GET IS 2nd OPTION.

with this options (1st or 2nd) you get a lot
    DV in/out
    ANALOGUE (S-VIDEO,composite) IN/OUT
    you have everything!!!
    STUDIO PINNACLE program and more

record from DIGITAL,ANALOGUE(vhs..) and export directly to VHS or digital or even record on CD-avi,MPEG, REAL VIDEO

and you could get codec to transform from MJPEG (DC10+) to MPEG..

so why pay more for DV 500 plus, get cheaper ( PINNACLE DC10+ and PINNACLE DV )for less money and compression is even better from form 3,5:42(DC10+), DV 500plus has only standard compression!!!

350$ (PINNACLE DC10+ and PINNACLE DV) or 900$ (PINNACLE DV 500 plus) ?????

by the way: PINNACLE STUDIO DV plus is out of the question, beacuse it has NO VHS IN, only OUT!!!!

    so what is excellent choice!!

i prefer 2nd option, what about you?

tell me your opinion and correct me if i'm wrong!

do you HAVE A BETTER solution?

    If I'am rigth
Pinnacle Studio DC10plus dosen't have any MPEG hardware it dose have MJPEG = Motion JPEG.
Pinnacle Studio DV is in DV video format.
Pinnacle Studio DVplus you would be better off with Pinnacle DC1000 for a $100 more I know this one has MPEG hardware support.

    Hi
wanted to edit all my Hi8 video (and some old vhsc tapes) of my kids and our holidays. Bought a Studio DC10Plus yesterday, and it looks like the only pinnacle home product WITHOUT win2000 drivers! (guess who's going to edit using a 2000 box - or not as the case may be) Also it produces MJPEG, although i don't know much about digital editing so i dont know if that would be a problem. software looks ok, and neat feature is that it (supposedly) automatically detects each scene at seperates them for quicker easier editing.
can anyone suggest a better solution? dont want to spend too much on an analogue only solution, as i hope toget a DV in the next 12 months or less.
