Powerpoint slideshow on dvd

Need help on the tools and how to on putting a powerpoint slideshow onto a dvd-r. I need to be able to hit the dvd player remote control to go to the next slide (chapter) this really needs to be untimed if at all possible. I have tried camtasia snagit then tried to burn in nero but after so many seconds after the slide has played the screen goes black. My company made a dvd like I need ( show plays on the dvd player & it plays the slide then it pauses and the slide is still shown on screen then when your ready to play the next just hit the remote) Not sure how this is done. Please help been searching back and forth for a month trying to find a post on this particular subject. Thanks in advance for any help.
