i know alot of people have been having problems using mainconcept PVR this step by step guide is easy to follow and anyone can do it its the ONLY way to use mainconcept pvr correctly...
1.open up mainconcept pvr.
2.click the WRENCH icon.
3.click record
4.change the preset to custom mpeg 2
5.to right you will see size change it to 352x480 or 720x480
6.you see the performance quality bar below those 2 i mentioned.
7.move the slider to performance until its on a setting of FIVE
8.now click advanced the click video encoder basic make sure the level is on a setting of FIVE!
9.change the bitrate to your liking in the area below motion search.
10.click video encoder advanced at the top.
11.change field encoding to bottom field first.
12.to get sharp picture disable line filtering.
thats all their is to it to using main concept PVR.
i cant stress enough how important it is you use a quality setting of FIVE with the custom mpeg 2 preset the program will be jumpy and out of whack not doing the above.

Some of the settings you just suggested are device managed. Like TFF or BFF.

if some mods li would like it to be edited if possible.
here is a little up date on the program.
i have succesfully leveled out the left to right jitteryness and the up and down shaking.
first for constant bitrate.
1.the shaking up and down like an earthquake only happens when the performance bar is above a setting of FIVE with a constant bitrate.
2.the jittery left to right motion only occurs when the performance bar is below FIVE with a constant bitrate setting.
second for variable bitrate,
1.the shaking up and down every few seconds occurs when the performance bar is higher than FOUR..
2.the jittery left to right motion only occurs when the performace bar is below a setting of FOUR.
if you go into the advanced area after clicking the wrench click video encoder basic at the top you will motion search precision this the performance bar i speak and it can only be changed after click the wrench icon when you first open mainconcept PVR so slide it.
so its a settting of FOUR for variable bitrate and a setting of FIVE for a constant bitrate.
if the mods could rearrange some my lame typing skills a more professional look it would greatly appreciated as this software is very good a mpeg's.
thats about it for now.
