I've just bought a Liteon 5006 recorder and understand from flanina... (clever chap) it won't ouput a dvd signal via RF.
This is a problem for me, it means I can't run the signal upstairs to the loft and on to each bedroom.
My original setup, comprising a dvd player and sky tv box connected to a VCR was fine, and the resultant RF signal from the VCR would happily send itself around the house.
Does anyone know a fix, are all DVD recorders the same?
    Thanks,
    Will

Use your VCR to convert the video output from your DVD recorder to an RF signal.

    Yes.

  3. Yeah, just run into your vcr, using the rca connections (or s-video, for the video, if you are lucky enough to have a vcr with an s-video connection), and then run the rf output of the vcr to whatever you like. I do it all the time. Good luck, and enjoy.

    Hey.
I've been thinking about this (but have yet to test it, sorry) and my original setup was a macrovision removed scart to scart (from the dvd player to the VCR) so surely, if I run the composites to the VCR they'll be some form of copy protection involved, right, even though I'm not copying, only outputting?

my vcr only starts the macrovision when I press the record button, and some vcrs just have it when you plug it up, even without pressing record. But I think most vcrs will output a clean signal as long as you dont press record. Is that what your asking?

    Kind of, thanks.
I seem to remember seeing a distorted image upstairs (in bed 1) when I ran the dvd signal through the vcr and up into the bedroom.
This went away when I connected the macrovision remover scart thingy, and figured it'd be the same with the dvd recorder.
Trouble is, I don't have a macrovision removal thingy in the form of a composite to scart.

  8. You can use an RF modulator if they have them there.
