Hello, Im just starting out here & I could really use some help. Im using dvd encrypter. I want to rip certain parts off a dvd, not the entire disc. But how do i know which files are the ones I do not want? (without ripping the entire dvd?

    Hello,

You could use dvd shrink instead. It has a preview window which lets you see exactly what you want.

How's about doing some reading by clicking on the "How To" articles on the left of this web page. There are many, many fine guides, put together by some great folks who have volunteered their time and expertise to this very subject. DVDDecrypter.com also has some outstanding guides to show you exactly what you want to do. But to try and walk someone through it here by typing countless directions is really defeating the purpose of all the guides, posted and maintained by our outstanding web host. If after following these guides you still need some assistance, please post and let us know what you did, how you did it and where you are having troubles.

Do you want specific chapters only, or do you need to set custom "start" and "end" points ?

if chapters, I use IFOEdit's DVD Player to identify which chapters contain the info I require, then I use either DVDDecrypter or smartripper and select only the chapters I require. If it's custom points, then DVDShrink's "Start/End" feature in reauthor mode would be my recommendation.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Steps 1 & 2 in this guide should be able to help you with IFOEdit and Smartripper - you could do the ripping in DVDDecryper but I don't have a guide handy that shows you this, so ....
    If in doubt, Google it.
