  1. I have a DVD that exists only on my hard drive. I burned it using intervideo dvd copy 3, but my standalone player says wrong region.

1: how do I remove the region info from the DVD file on my harddrive?
2: how do I convert from PAL to NTSC on my harddrive
3: is there any program that will allow you to look at a VIDEO_TS directory on hard drive and see all info associated, ie NTSC or PAL, what region its encoded in etc. etc so that i dont have to burn another coaster?

    thanks

DVDShrink removes the region code by default. It can open DVD files and ISO Images.

Region Coding and PAL/NTSC are two totally different animals.
You need to figure out whether you player didn't play the disc because it was the wrong region OR it was PAL.

Converting between PAL and NTSC is NOT fun or easy on a computer.

IFOedit I believe lets you view all that... and change it as well. But it can get complicated.

It's a gigantic pain. The best way to watch PAL DVD's in an NTSC country is to get a cheapo player that plays PAL. Cyberhome can be had for under $40 everywhere, and plays everything with a quick menu hack.

  6. if you really want to convert, Procoder does the best job and easy, but expensive.....and you lose the menu and all that, it's just for the movie.

you can't do a COMPLETE pal-ntsc conversion, unless you reauthor the entire dvd, convert files, and do the menues again.

    your option.

I'm kind of rooting for this to be a future option in DVD-Rebuilder. It rips open and re-encodes every title ANYWAY, so why not have an option to change the resolution from PAL to NTSC? I'm gonna suggest it over on those forums, see what happens.
