  1. Not sure if this goes here or not but I am curious if the above mentioned Digital 8 camcorder supports video input via the A/V cable jacks or any other jacks? I am trying to record myself mountain biking via a lipstick cam and hope that this camcorder will support this and that someone on this forum has this cam or has had and knows the answer. Thanks

    Go to ---> http://www.sony.com/

    Along the top you will see the word ELECTRONICS

    Hover your mouse pointer there.

    A drop down menu pops up.

    Hover your mouse pointer over CAMCORDERS and another menu pops up.

    On that menu select SUPPORT AND DRIVERS

    This takes you to another screen where you select:

    1.) PRODUCT ---> You pick DIGITAL CAMCORDERS
    2.) SERIES ---> You pick DIGITAL 8
    3.) MODEL ---> You pick DCR-TRV130

    Then click on CONTINUE

    This takes you to another screen where you will see the word DOCUMENTS (black text in a green bar).

    Under that you will see a link called "Primary User Manual"

    Click on that link.

    An Adobe PDF file will load info your web browser. This is the "Primary User Manual".

    Actually I read parts of the PDF manual and it clearly says that it does support A/V input for recording to an inserted Digitigal8 tape. That was all I could find though. There was no mention of analog-to-digital-passthrough nor was there even any mention of connecting it to a computer in any way, shape or form.

    But then again I only briefly looked at the manual. I might have missed something.

    That is why I posted how to get to it so you could read it yourself in-depth ... which clearly you did not.

    Shame on you!
