ok, i like to have menus cuz i watch a lot of movies before i go to sleep and having menus is nice cuz i like to go to a specific scene without having to haveto hit the skip forward button several times.

anyway, what i just thought of doing is taking the movie only with DVDShrink and encoding it to DVD format, open it with TDA and creating my own menus that are VERY small in size (like 2mb which is nothing on a DVD) compared to the actual DVD's menu which are usually 100mb+. The thing is DVDShrink's output is usually 4464mb which isnt the FULL size of a DVD so i can add 2-3mb easily (which will make the total like 4466-4467 which should still fit on a DVD5) without reducing the quality of the video but my question is, does TMPGEenc DVD Author reduce the video quality if i just re-encode the movie again adding the menu?

TDA does not re-encode, it only creates menus and puts the video into the DVD structure. So the answer is no, it does not affect the quality of the video at all.

thanks for the quick reply... that awesome then, i can just add my own menu structure to my DVD's now without effecting the quality of the movies (except for DTS movies cuz TDA doesnt recognize DTS).

is there any DVD Authoring software out there that supports DTS and has the option to create your own menus and is also as easy as TDA to create menus?
