I have been working on a set of software to allow a school for disabled children in China made videos as part of their student assessment. I have been successful in getting things flowing but now need to fine tune things - the process takes a long time now. The system used is a 2.5 ghz celeron with 512 mb of ram and a 7200 rmp 80 gb hard drive. No money to upgrade
We are now using Virtualdub for editing. What is the fastest editor - preferrably freeware - out there now?
Thanks!

Thanks! I am working from a Sony DV camcorder. The goal right now is to produce SVCD's to use for student assessment or for training purposes. I am a newbie so I don't know a lot of the words...ultimately we need to be able to cut and paste, fade in and out, mute sound, add in voice, add titles, menus and chapters.
